Michigan Television Receives 9 Emmy Awards!
Michigan Television, won nine regional Emmy awards at the awards presentation gala on Saturday night. Michigan Emmys are awarded annually by the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence in television production. More...
Michigan Television Open House
Michigan Television's first station Open House on Saturday, May 31 was a huge success. Almost 150 viewers stopped by to enjoy tours of the station, food & refreshments, learn about digital TV, and to meet Wonder Red, from the hit kid’s show “Super Why”! Click here for photos from the event.

Acts of Art: The Prison Creative Arts Project
Every year, U-M professors, Janie Paul and Buzz Alexander, along with various volunteers, travel across Michigan to visit prisons and collect art for an annual exhibit of prison art at the University of Michigan. Now in its 13th year, the show has become the largest exhibit of prison art in the country, with hundreds of prisoners participating. While art-making has always been part of prison life, this exhibition in the 'outside' world, no less at a prestigious university, has generated work unlike that of any other state. Acts of Art will broadcast on all PBS stations across Michigan in March and April. More...

Announcing: A New Gallery Space for Time-Based Media: PLAY
PLAY IS.... television momentarily transformed into a gallery space, as experimental shorts from the University of Michigan School of Art & Design community are broadcast in between regular programming on Michigan Television and Michigan Channel.
PLAY IS... a tv intervention, bringing performance art, animation and video to the in-between spaces of the broadcast spectrum.
New pieces premiere on Sundays at 8:56 p.m.
